Deepwick Grounds

http://i31.tinypic.com/2iiyd5f.jpgDeepwick Grounds. Deepwick Hall lies in the centre of the grounds, on the border of Prys Tir. The eccentric Lord Hubert Deepwick lives here, hence the name. Lord Deepwick generally has nothing to do with the estate he owns, the Gamekeeper runs it for him. He enjoys shooting, and once a year he and his companions make their way into Tylluan Wood. They are rather trigger happy, and will shoot anything that moves. It is best to keep quiet, and hide when the pheasant shoots are commencing...The Deepwick Grounds is flat and mostly tree-less, apart from few sparse oaks here and there. There is little vegetation here, but, if you are clever enough, there is a tremendous prize...Peacocks! Lord Deepwick is very proud of his group of ornamental birds. He's a good shot, so be careful. He won't hesitate to blow a fox or marten to smithereens if one should threaten his beloved flock. Keep you wits about you... it's a dangerous game to play...

Tylluan Wood

http://i26.tinypic.com/2drdqxd.jpgA dark, tangled mass of trees, that spreads out over most of Prys Tir. The wood is home to many creatures, both predator and prey. Here, there are no laws - It is kill or be killed, eat or be eaten. Life hangs in the balance, and the line between survival and death, is very thin indeed...The Gamekeeper's pheasants are released here, when they are old enough to fend for themselves. The birds are raised by the Gamekeeper for Lord Deepwick's shooting obsession. However, the empty- headed poultry are easy game for others, such as foxes, polecats and mink for instance. The Gamekeeper is waging a constant war with these hunters, and will stop at nothing to protect Lord Deepwick's birds. After all, he is paid to do so...It is best to be cautious and cunning, quick- witted and wise. Take care... because if you don't, you may find yourself nailed to the Gibbet, creaking gently in the wind...

Crëyr Brook

http://i29.tinypic.com/21mt3sk.jpgThe Brook is an important source of nutrience for the animals of Tylluan Wood. Creatures of all shapes and sizes come here to drink, and trout and eel swim beneath the clear waters, perfect prey for a cunning heron, or a skillful otter...Life is abundant here. Watervoles still dwell here, though they are getting increasingly rare. The intoduced minks love to hunt watervoles, and, as they are a protected species, the Gamekeeper sets traps for the mink. They aren't very successful, as mink are shrewd creatures. But still - beware the baited box traps, if you are small enough to fit in them, a careless move could cost you your life...Crëyr Brook is situated near the southern border of the Wood, near to the Gamekeeper's Cottage. The Gamekeeper, in his spare time, sometimes comes to fish for trout here, for the cooking pot. Luckly, Lord Deepwick has no interest in fishing, so when the Gamekeeper is not around, they have the place to themselves. However, it is still best to keep alert, as the Gamekeeper's Cottage is worryingly close, and humans are never to be trusted...

Gamekeeper's Cottage

http://i26.tinypic.com/dh2zuo.jpgOn the edge of the Woods, the Gamekeeper's Cottage sits, dark and foreboding. It is best for animals to keep well away from here. The Gamekeeper guards his pheasants fiercly. And he has help too. His two hunting dogs will not hesitate to rip apart a fox or mink on sight...The crime of poaching one of the Gamekeeper's pheasants is death. His dogs will track you down, and his bullets will cease your breath. He is rarely unsuccessful. So tread carefully here...

Hangman's Field

http://i27.tinypic.com/99dw5j.jpgThe lonely field that lies behind the Gamekeeper's Cottage. The feild has an eerie air to it, like some unseen prescence is watching you. Hangman's Field is so named because once, long, long ago, human sinners were hung for their crimes here. The gallows are long gone of course, but it is said that the spirits remain, roaming Hangman's Field, never to rest, more punishment for their terrible sins. Most humans avoid this place, but the Gamekeeper is not a superstitious man, and is not put off by the legends. Animals pay no heed to human myths either, but one thing does keep them away...The Gibbet. Erected by the Gamekeeper, a place to nail the corpses of his victims, tied down with barbed wire. The rotten pelts of fellow creatures are a constant reminder, that animals should fear the Gamekeeper's wrath...Although the field is eerie, it is also beautiful, if you can ignore the horrific Gibbet. Thousands of poppies bloom here, painting the field scarlet. Perhaps it is Mother Nature's way of paying her last respects... for all the blood that has been shed here, over the countless centuries...

The Wall

http://i31.tinypic.com/opu3br.jpgAt the southern border of Hangman's Field, the crumbling old wall divides the pasture from the road, and the wind-swept grasslands of Hebog Moor. The poppies and rushes of the field start to thin out, gradually dissapearing as you get to the wall, replaced by wild, moorland grasses. Although crumbling and derelict, the wall still stands, it's stone weathered and chipping from countless years of wind, rain and hail. The wall is a favourite hunting ground for buzzards, using it as a look- out post and a hunting platform. The area is abundant in rabbits, easy prey for the oppertunistic raptors. The wall is perilously close to the road... so there is often plenty of road-kill for the buzzards to scavenge...
